Photo Blog: Rehearsal Session For This Friday’s CD Release & Hymn Sing

Hopefully by now you know the CD Release for our brand new, 12-song album The Water And The Blood: The Hymns Of Isaac Watts, Volume Two is this Friday, 7pm at Louisville’s Memorial Auditorium. This is a free event, to which no ticket or registration is required. Yesterday, the band rehearsed for Good Friday. They’ll be doing every song from the album, along with three more of our adaptations of Isaac Watts hymns. We’ll project the lyrics so everyone can sing along. You Have To See These Photos To Believe Them – Sojourn Music Folks & Others At Interstates Christmas Show

Many Sojourn worship leaders and musicians actively participate in the Louisville music scene, and several tour nationally as part of various bands. Last Saturday at The 930 Art Center, home of Sojourn’s Midtown Campus, we hosted a “Ding Dong Dandy Christmas” spectacular headlined by the progressive post-rock band Interstates. All members of this band are Sojourners as well. And one of the other acts in this concert also has Sojourn Music connections — the Yuletide Carrols are a female trio made up of singers who also lead worship at Sojourn Gathered on Sundays. Photo Blog: Halloween Concert/Murder Mystery At Sojourn's Midtown Campus

This past Saturday at The 930 Art Center, part of Sojourn’s Midtown Campus, we enjoyed a special Halloween concert featuring four artists who are familiar to many Sojourn members or those who listen to Sojourn Music albums. Pines Of Rome (the band of Justin & Megan Shaffer, who are also Sojourn worship leaders). Jamie Barnes (who is also East Campus worship director) Sand Paper Dolls (three great Louisville singers, including Rebecca Dennison, a Sojourn worship leader) Dirt Poor Robins (the band of Neil and Kate Robins, who are also Sojourn worship leaders). … and much more. Yes, as you can tell, we’ve redesigned our web page. Sojourner Drew Peterson is doing a fantastic job switching us over to a different theme and adding some cool features.
