Hopefully by now you know the CD Release for our brand new, 12-song album The Water And The Blood: The Hymns Of Isaac Watts, Volume Two is this Friday, 7pm at Louisville’s Memorial Auditorium. This is a free event, to which no ticket or registration is required.

Yesterday, the band rehearsed for Good Friday. They’ll be doing every song from the album, along with three more of our adaptations of Isaac Watts hymns. We’ll project the lyrics so everyone can sing along. The photo above features, left to right: Justin Shaffer, Brooks Ritter, Kristen Gilles, Megan Shaffer and Chad Watson on the front row, along with Dony Erwin on the upright bass and Pastor Mike Cosper on guitar in the back row.

In the photo above, Jamie Barnes and Rebecca Dennison get ready to rehearse the title cut from this new album, a song called “The Water And The Blood,” by Neil Robins and David LaChance.

Above is a nice shot of the back of Jamie’s head, as he moves over to keyboard. Kind of looks like Nosferatu here, but folks, Jamie is as talented and nice as they come — and those are two adjectives that often don’t go together in this world.

While waiting their turn to practice, Justin and Megan Shaffer sit with their daughter Ireland and my wife Kristen. Justin is a songwriter/guitarist, while Megan and Kristen both contributed vocals on The Water And The Blood.

These crazy cats are having a rollicking good time, here.

Left to right: Phillip Miller on lap steel, Dony Erwin on upright bass and David LaChance on keys. And Miguel Monroy is way back in outer darkness on the drums.
These are just a few of the worship leaders, musicians and songwriters who contributed to our latest project, and who will lead us in these hymns of the faith on Friday. If you’re anywhere near Louisville, come join us! We’ll have plenty of CDs for sale, of course. If you can’t get there, pre-order yours now in CD, vinyl or mp3 format.

How do I look like Nosfertu? Bobby…you’re commentary is on notice. On Notice!
Just as my famous double is Vince Lombardi, and Smitty’s is Al Boreland from Home Improvement, yours is Nosferatu. But just from the back! Accept it.
Great to see Kristen. She looks so happy. I watched her grow up from a baby to a fine christian young lady. May you folks prosper and be blessed. Please tell Kristen Pam and I say howdy from Sarasota FL.
Will do! She’s definitely made me happy.
So in the liner notes, Rebecca is the only one listed for Absent from Flesh, but I’m certain that someone else is singing as well. Is that Brooks? It’s quite a bit different than Jamie on the Mercy Seat…
Unfortunately the vocal credits on the CD liner are incorrect. We’ll correct those on the next shipment (everything else, like the songwriter credit section, is correct).
On Absent From Flesh, Brooks Ritter sings lead. Megan Shaffer and Emily Vaughn provide background vocals.
Not entirely sure on background vocals for every song off the top of my head, but here are the correct lead vocals for all the other songs:
The Water And The Blood: Rebecca Dennison
From Deep Distress: Kristen Gilles; Brooks Ritter
Compel My Heart To Sing: Brooks Ritter, Rebecca Elliott
Let The Seventh Angel Sound: Jamie Barnes
Oh God, Our Help In Ages Past: Brooks Ritter
Deep In Our Hearts: Chad Watson
Blest Be The Lamb: Jamie Barnes
Death Has Lost Its Sting: Megan Shaffer
Early, My God: Rebecca Elliott
Let Your Blood Plead For Me: Rebecca Dennison
The World Will Know: Brooks Ritter
