Today is the long-awaited release day for the new Sojourn Music worship album — actually two EPs featuring East Campus Worship Director Jamie Barnes (a 5-song EP called The Mercy Seat) and Midtown Campus Worship Director Brooks Ritter (a 5-song EP called The War).
Visit the Sojourn Music Bandcamp page for these two EPs now. You can listen to all ten songs in their entirety, and you can buy them in standard mp3 format or (for the extremely discerning ears) FLAC, ALAC, AAC and other formats (if these names mean nothing to you, don’t worry about it. Just download the mp3s, as you would any album from iTunes and other digital stores).

And now, courtesy of Chuck Heeke, here are photos from our Album Release Party.

This party took place Saturday night at The 930 Art Center here in Louisville.

We packed 450 people into The 930 — Sojourners from all our campuses, Louisville music lovers, and even friends of Sojourn Music from Nashville, Indianapolis, Cincinnati and other areas.

At one point Jamie Barnes urged those in attendance to update their status info on mobile devices to say “I can’t believe it — Brooks and Jamie just smashed their guitars and levitate off stage.”

This sent a steady stream of strange Twitter and Facebook updates into cyberspace.

It was a fantastic show. Now, what are you waiting for? Go get the music for yourself! You can even hear it with no obligation to buy now.

Been waiting for this for a long time. Very excited! You guys are awesome!
Really diggin’ this new music. As someone who appreciates jazz and other styles the fresh approach to worship music and diverse influences I hear in both of you is very refreshing. Keep up the great work. I pray these songs will be a blessing to your community and beyond.
Is there a plan to make this into a physical disc? Or is the digital disc all that is planned?
Mark
Mark – yes. Hopefully going to have physical discs later this spring. We’ll keep everyone posted here on the website when they are available.
