Learn About Sojourn's Version Of "The Christ Hymn (Colossians 1:15-20)
Sojourn recorded “The Christ Hymn” on These Things I Remember in 2005. Worship Leader Rebecca Dennison arranged the famous text (Colossians 1:15-20)and wrote the music for it with Worship & Arts Pastor Mike Cosper. I asked Rebecca a few questions in a short interview for our Inside Sojourn podcast. Download it now from iTunes. Or, you can listen to this interview here on the Audio Acrobat player. The interview concludes with the complete album cut mp3 of “The Christ Hymn” from These Things I Remember.

Our good friend (and pastor of Redeemer Fellowship in Illinois) Joe Thorn interviewed Worship & Arts Pastor Mike Cosper as part of his Experiential Theology series. Hop over to joethorn.net and read it today! Here are just a few excerpts: On how theology shapes what we do in gathered worship: Worship has ONE object – the triune God, revealed in the scripture as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Worship has TWO contexts – the broad context of all of life (unceasing, living-sacrifice worship) and the narrow context of the gathered church, who gathers to encourage and build one another up, … Read Entire Post

Worship: The Center of Congregational Life
“Worship stands at the center of congregational life (1) when there is an expectation of encounter with God in worship, (2) when preparation for worship is taken seriously by worship leaders and worshipers, (3) when the programatic life of the congregation supports worship participation for people in all circumstances of life, and (4) when reflection on the worship is pervasive throughout congregational life.” – Jane Rogers Vann, Gathered Before God Photo courtesy Troy Harvey, from Sojourn East campus.
