Sojourn Music is holding open auditions again for the worship team. We as a church are blessed to have so many gifted servants who desire to use their gifts to bless the rest of the body of believers. So, in order to keep this ministry active and vital, we look forward to meeting with those that want to use their musical abilities to lead the church in corporate worship. If you are interested in auditioning, here is the low-down:
1. Auditions will be held on Wednesday June 16th, 2010 at 7pm in the auditorium at The 930 ( Midtown Campus ).
2. You Must be a member of Sojourn or in the membership process to be considered for the team.
3. Let us know what musical instrument you’ll be auditioning with or if you are a vocalist ( or both ). If you are a multi-instrumentalist, come ready to play the instrument you are most proficient with. Please bring your own instrument if you can. Email Jamie Barnes with that info before auditions so we’ll know what to expect.
4. You will be expected to know these songs from the Sojourn Hymnal and to be ready to sing/play them:
Instrumentalists and male vocalists: Only Your Blood is Enough, Lead Us Back, In the Shadow Of the Glorious Cross
Instrumentalists and female vocalists: May Your Power Rest on Me, There is A Peace, My Maker and My King
Obviously, the Sojourn CD’s serve as the immediate reference point for these tunes. But you can also hear all of these in the media player at Facebook.com/sojournmusic. Lead sheets can also be found here at www.sojournmusic.com, on either the Before The Throne page or the Over The Grave page.
Lyrics and lead sheets will be provided the day of auditions, so please don’t feel the weight of having to memorize everything!
5. We are specifically on the lookout for guitarists, stringed instrument players and male vocalists/leaders, ..but anyone is welcome to audition for any role. Some positions within the worship team have a surplus of servants – but we are open to hearing what you’ve got even if we are comfortably covered in those areas. Please sign up!
