Welcome to sojournmusic.com’s weekly worship music set list review. You can find links to the set lists of this church and many other churches each week in the Worship Blog Carnival at theworshipcommunity.com. And you can learn about some of the songs we sing at Sojourn Gathered each week in advance of the Sunday service by reading my “Getting Ready For Sunday” post each Thursday at Sojourn’s online journal, TravelBlog.
This set list comes from the morning services at the Midtown campus. Slight variations may have taken place during the other services. Photos by Jason Spencer, from the evening services.

1. I Boast No More hymn text by Isaac Watts, contemporary melody by Sandra McCracken. I don’t think it’s possible to write a better hymn stanza than these four lines:
Now, for the loss I bear his name,
What was my gain I count my loss
My former pride I call my shame
And nail my glory to His cross

2. Lord, Let Your Glory Fall by Matt Redman. I love the Old Testament tie-in that Redman brings in the verses, before the anthemic praise chorus:
Voices in unison,
Giving You thanks and praise,
Joined by the instruments,
And then Your glory came.
Your presence like a cloud,
Upon that ancient day,
The priests were overwhelmed,
All because Your glory came!
You are good, You are good, and Your love endures.
You are good, You are good, and Your love endures.
You are good! You are good, and Your love endures today

3. My Maker And My King original hymn text by Anne Steel, arranged and fitted with a new melody by Sojourn Worship & Arts Pastor Mike Cosper. You’ll find this song of adoration on Before The Throne. You can hear the track and download the chord sheet here on sojournmusic.com, and you can also listen to the mp3 at facebook.com/sojournmusic ormyspace.com/sojournrecords.
My maker and my King,
to You my all, I owe –
Your sovereign bounty is the spring
Where all my blessings flow
4. Satisfied In You by Brian Eichedlberger. This psalm-based modern worship song makes it clear that only Christ can satisfy the longing in every human heart:
As a deer pants for water, so my soul longs for you
And when I survey Your splendor, You so faithfully renew
Like a bed of rest for my fainting flesh, I am satisfied in You.

5. O Sacred King by Matt Redman. We sang this as our Communion song of the week. It’s a fitting lyric for the occasion:
O Sacred King, O Holy King
How can I honour You rightly,
Honour that’s fit for Your name?
O Sacred friend, O Holy friend
I don’t take what You give lightly
Friendship instead of disgrace.

6. In The Shadow Of The Glorious Cross by Sojourn’s Brooks Ritter and Rebecca Elliott. We recorded this one on Before The Throne. You can hear the mp3 and download the chord sheet here on sojournmusic.com, and also hear the mp3 in full at either facebook.com/sojournmusic or myspace.com/sojournrecords.
A hymn of grace, sung over me,
Abounding forth in glorious streams,
My thirst is quenched, by You my Lord,
Sustained I am, redeemed, restored

7. O Church Arise by Keith Getty and Stuart Townend. This is a good call to worship or, as we used it this week, as a song of dedication and sending:
Oh Church arise, and put your armor on,
Hear the call of Christ our captain.
