Welcome to the sojournmusic.com weekly worship music set list review. You can find links to the set lists of this church and many other churches each week in the Worship Blog Carnival at theworshipcommunity.com. And you can learn about some of the songs we sing at Sojourn Gathered each week in advance of the Sunday service by reading my “Getting Ready For Sunday” post each Thursday at Sojourn’s online journal, TravelBlog. Photos this week by Jason Spencer.

1. I Sought The Lord text anonymous. This was our first time to sing “I Sought The Lord” at Sojourn Gathered. We used it as the “come inside and gather with us” song.
I sought the Lord, and afterward I knew
he moved my soul to seek him, seeking me.
It was not I that found, O Savior true;
no, I was found of thee.
2. Great Is Thy Faithfulness the famous 20th century hymn by Thomas Chisholm. Chisholm was born in a log cabin in Kentucky, so we’ll claim him. Perhaps if he’d been born a hundred years later, he’d be giving songwriting workshops at The 930 Art Center.
We sang this song because it’s a good theme for a baby dedication service, and for a service that centers around a sermon from Mark 6, where Jesus walked on the water and revealed Himself for who He is.
Great is thy faithfulness
Great is thy faithfulness
Morning by morning new mercies I see
All I have needed thy hand hath provided
Great is thy faithfulness, Lord unto me
Great is thy faithfulness

3. All I Have Is Yours by me (Bobby Gilles) and Rebecca Elliott. We often do this song as part of our bi-annual baby dedication ceremony, which is how we used it this week. You can view the chord sheet on the Before The Throne page here at sojournmusic.com. And if you don’t own Before The Throne, you can hear “All I Have Is Yours” at this link, courtesy Last.fm.

4. Here Is Love by William Rees and Robert Lowry, with modern addition and adaptation by Matt Redman. This song is a great celebration of assurance.
Here is love, vast as the ocean
Lovingkindness as the flood
When the Prince of Life, our Ransom
Shed for us His precious blood
Who His love will not remember?
Who can cease to sing His praise?
He can never be forgotten
Throughout Heav’n's eternal days

5. Jesus Savior, Pilot Me hymn text by Edward Hopper; contemporary melody and arrangement by Bifrost Arts. We did this as the Communion hymn for the week, coming out of Worship & Arts Pastor Mike Cosper’s sermon on Mark 6. The imagery for this song is a perfect one for reminding us of the One who walks on water:
Jesus, Savior, pilot me,
Over life’s tempestuous sea;
Unknown waves before me roll,
Hiding rock and treach’rous shoal;
Chart and compass came from Thee:
Jesus, Savior, pilot me.

6. Begone Unbelief lyrics by John Newton, modern melody by Indelible Grace founder Kevin Twit. Indelible Grace has also included information on this one in their online hymnal.
Begone unbelief, My Savior is near,
And for my relief Will surely appear:
By faith let me wrestle, with God in the storm
And help me my Savior, the faith to adorn
And help me my Savior, the faith to adorn
7. O Love That Will Not Let Me Go by George Matheson. Our friends at Indelible Grace arranged this hymn and wrote a modern melody for it on their first record. You can read the lyrics, listen to their mp3 demo and more at igracemusic.com (they’ve also included the historical account of the writing of this hymn).
O Love that wilt not let me go,
I rest my weary soul in thee;
I give thee back the life I owe,
That in thine ocean depths its flow
May richer, fuller be
