Brooks Ritter and Sojourn musicians rehearsing in the auditorium Then I take you into that most sensitive of areas, the Men’s Restroom, to check the poster displays for upcoming Sojourn events like the exhibit, the Dirt Poor Robins CD release party (which is also free, and held … Read Entire Post

Check Out A Video Of Jesus In The Wilderness, As Lent Begins
Today Sojourn entered into the season of Lent with our Ash Wednesday morning service (check out a photo blog of the service at our online journal, TravelBlog). As we progress now through the 40 days of Lent, check out this video that we showed a couple years ago during an Ash Wednesday service. It’s a very well-done cartoon depiction of Christ’s 40 days in the wilderness:
Biggest Collaborative/Joint Art-Music Event Yet
Recently I told you about a big CD release party coming to The 930 Art Center, Sojourn’s community center (and part of our Midtown campus). This free concert features Dirt Poor Robins, who will be debuting their new album Last Days of Leviathan. Dave Moisan will open for DPR. Dave is a singer-songwriter who played a major part on our Over The Grave and Advent Songs albums. Dirt Poor Robins’ members Neil and Kate Robins did so as well. This will be a fantastic night of music. In fact, if you missed the podcast interview I conducted with Neil Robins, … Read Entire Post

NewReleaseTuesday.com Interviews Mike Cosper About "Over The Grave: The Hymns Of Isaac Watts, Vol. 1"
Check out NewReleaseTuesday.com for an interview with Sojourn Worship & Arts Pastor Mike Cosper. They ask him all about the motivation and recording process for our latest worship record, Over The Grave. A sample quote from Pastor Mike, when asked about themes on the album: One reason we came to Watts is that his stuff has an aggressive tone. What I mean by aggressive is that he goes straight after challenging topics like sin, the devil and death. These are topics which are rich and constant throughout scripture but not necessarily part of the dialog in modern worship circles. I … Read Entire Post

Mike Cosper Reviews "Wake Up Love" by Melanie Penn
Back in 2008, I had the privilege of taking part in Dwell 2008 in New York City. Dwell was a church planting conference co-hosted by Acts 29 and Redeemer Presbyterian Church, and was focused on urban church planting. Several hundred church planters packed into an old church in Manhattan for a week to listen to CJ Mahaney, Tim Keller, Mark Driscoll, Eric Mason, Darrin Patrick, and several others spur them on in mission. My very good friend Tim Smith of Mars Hill Church asked me to join him in playing music for the conference, and told me we’d be joining … Read Entire Post
