Yesterday we announced that Sojourn would play with other area worship bands this Friday night, and participate in a park renewal project this Saturday. Now, Worship & Arts Pastor Mike Cosper gives details:
A few months ago, I received a phone call from my friend Daniel Dabney – the worship leader for The Post at Southeast Christian Church. Daniel wanted to know if we might be interested in joining hands with Southeast and Northside to gather for worship and to pray for our city. I said yes right away.
Daniel had one rule, though. Having been at many of these sort of events, he wanted to make sure that the communities really came together. So this Friday, at Iroquois park, you won’t see the Sojourn band, or Northside’s band, or the Post band. What you’ll see is a couple of hybrids – a few musicians from each church in each band. No one is going to get up for a long lecture or sermon, but leaders from each church will get up briefly to lead us in praying for renewal and revival in our city. Then on Saturday, we’ll get together again for a major work project to help renovate Iroquois park.
So if you’re looking for something to do this weekend, if you live in the neighborhood of the park, come on down and join us. It’ll be a night under the stars at the park and a great chance to join hands with other area churches to pray for renewal and revival in Louisville.

I’m so excite this is happening right in my back-yard!
um…excited, not excite
Wow! WE are having supper and driving over from New Albany! missed our church service Wednesday and feel depleted! Gonna get rejuvenated! Awesome! Thank You LORD!!!
Bobby,
That’s awesome – I doubt anyone would care, but I’m pretty sure that “re:create” is trademarked by the conference in TN … and Randy Elrod – may want to have the event folks check into that, just to be safe.
