How We Recruit New Members Of Sojourn Music From Within …

New Sojourn sound boardThe following was first published in Sojourn’s online journal TravelBlog. Sometimes people ask if and how we recruit new members into Sojourn Music.  This pretty much sums it up.  We have bi-annual auditions which we advertise primarily through blogs, social media, the News & Events section of sojournchurch.com and word-of-mouth.  The latest round is coming soon:

Sojourn Music Needs YOU! by Pastor Mike

I am always overwhelmed when I stop and think about the incredible amount of talent that we have been blessed with at Sojourn. I am so thankful that I get to make music every weekend with these gifted musicians.

Sometimes, that blessing might give the wrong impression. Often, when I meet a musician at Sojourn, they assume that there’s no need for them to serve in Worship and Arts. After all – week in and week out, things appear to be just fine.

But there’s always room for us to grow in Sojourn music. Right now we have a number of needs, and our needs seem to be constantly expanding as the church grows. So if you’re a musician or an experienced Sound Engineer, and you’d like to commit some time to serving the church with your gifts, please contact us! Currently we’re looking for:

  • Experienced Sound Engineers
  • Drummers and percussionists
  • Bass Players
  • Lead Guitarists
  • Instrumentalists of all kinds
  • Piano and keyboard players
  • Singers

We need those folks for:

  • Services at the 930
  • Services at the St. Matthews Site
  • Sojourn Kids Worship
  • Worship teams for Membership Classes and other events.

If you can help us, let us know! The need for experienced Sound engineers is bigger than ever! Auditions for the band will be held on Thursday, August 20th at 7pm. You need to pre-register for the audition, so email jbarnes@sojournchurch.com
