Neil Robins and Sojourn Worship Arts Pastor Mike Cosper are co-producers on our two-disc Isaac Watts worship CD project. Neil, producer of the first disc, is co-founder of Dirt Poor Robins and produces their albums, as well as No More Kings and other acts. Hear an interview with Neil on the upcoming Isaac Watts project
Last Saturday I gathered with a group of friends to help Neil move his recording equipment to the brand new, spacious studio space where he will produce the Watts CD as well as various clients who have secured his services. In this first short video, you can take a look at the moving process for the equipment used on Sojourn’s Advent Songs CD, among other records:
And here below, I interview Neil as we walk through the building he has purchased — tracking rooms, mixing room, vocal booth … it’s all there. He details his plans for the facilities and how he will use the space to record his half of the Watts project, which will begin as soon as he’s set up (literally just days away).
You’ll note that the tour abruptly ends on the second floor when Neil and I spot a pizza delivery as we look through a window. Sorry about that. We’d been moving equipment and heavy furniture all morning and were ravenous. Also, the rest of the team was already down below, with a big lead on getting in line for Bearnos pizza.
So there you have it. When recording begins, I’ll capture some more video for you, along with still photos, audio interviews and commentary.
