What? Sojourn leaders, all in suits and ties? Yep. This was the scene Tuesday as Lead Pastor Daniel Montgomery (first from left) relaxed with Director of Connecting Dave Richards, Sojourn Kids Director Jared Kennedy and Director of Operations Bryce Butler before giving the chapel sermon address at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary here in Louisville. Daniel preached on Galatians 2:20-21 in the service, which was viewed live online via uStream (those of you who follow me on Twitter or have befriended me on Facebook received the update from me prior to the start of the service).Â
You can hear Pastor Daniel’s sermon in its entirety and you can also read the text from the Said at Southern blog. Or, watch it here:
A Sojourn worship band (Mike Cosper, Jamie Barnes, Katie Vaughn, Alex O’nan, along with Crossing Church worship director Eddy Morris)Â led the chapel congregation in singing modern and classic hymns: “O Help My Unbelief,” “O Church Arise,” “Solid Rock (My Hope is Built on Nothing Less)” and our own “In the Shadow of the Glorious Cross” from our Before the Throne CD.
Speaking of Sojourn Kids Director Jared Kennedy, he and Chandi Plummer (who oversees children’s music for Sojourn Kids) wrote an excellent article for TheWorshipCommunity.com recently. Entitled Music For Little Ones, the article examines criteria for selecting worship songs in children’s ministry. Be sure to check it out, as well as many other helpful articles on worship theology, leadership, arts, reviews, technology and more at TheWorshipCommunity, a grass roots website by and for church worship ministries everywhere, from many different traditions, denominations, cultures and church sizes.

Thanks for putting up the video, that is awesome.
You’re welcome!
