How To Lead Family Worship In The Home: A Conversation With Jared Kennedy of SojournKids

by Bobby Gilles on September 2, 2008

Jared Kennedy is the director of Sojourn’s children’s ministry, Sojourn Kids.  I sat down with him recently to talk about family worship.  Jared and Sojourn elder/ SBTS professor Rob Plummer recently wrote the Sojourn Family Worship Guide, a publication with many resources, lesson plans and ideas for leading worship in the home.  Jared talked about the scriptural reasons for Sojourn’s emphasis on making the home, not the church, the primary agent in bringing up kids, along with a discussion of the church’s role, the first thing parents should do to institute family worship times, and more.

You can download this short interview for free at iTunes and other podcast directories from our podcast, Sojournmusic.com Radio, or listen now by clicking the player below.

I strongly encourage you to download the pdf of the Family Worship Guide from the Sojourn Kids section of sojournchurch.com (you’ll see several other links and pdf’s of resources, too), and visit the sites for these resources, listed by Jared in the interview:

Big Picture Story Bible (Crossway)

Jesus Storybook Bible (Zondervan)

NIrV Adventure Bible For Young Readers (Zondervan)

ESV Children’s Bible (Crossway)
