Acts 29 pastor/bloggers David Fairchild and Drew Goodmanson (of Kaleo Church in California) have been writing about perspectives on leadership based on the biblical offices of prophet, priest and king for some time now. Of course Jesus was the ultimate fulfillment of prophet, priest and king, and as Christ’s body, we carry these roles as well.
Goodmanson and Fairchild write about how each of us have giftings and personalities in line with one role or another (although of course, as with all personality-typing, everyone is slightly different and does, to some degree, reflect more than one role). I find their discussion very helpful and have come to a better understanding of myself and that of ministerial colleagues as I ponder “prophets, priest and kings” as figures for a leadership model. Here is the most recent post. If you’re interested, check out these earlier articles that define the issue:
