More On Louisville's Discussion Of Sojourn's Beliefs Following LEO Weekly Article, What's Coming Up On sojournmusic.com, And How To Use RSS

For those of you following the reaction from within the city of Louisville to The LEO Weekly’s cover article on Sojourn and the subsequent Sojourn pastoral response provided by Worship Arts Pastor Mike Cosper, here is a sample reaction from a non-evangelical perspective, The ‘Ville Voice, a popular Louisville blog that often provides thought-provoking columns dealing with city news — and the coverage of city news in local media.  This article focuses on Sojourn’s views regarding homosexual behavior, questions of tolerance, and the merits of boycotting those who hold philosophical or religious beliefs contrary to your own.

Tomorrow on sojournmusic.com, read my thoughts on the debut album by Luke Asher, a singer-songwriter recently signed to Pink Bullet Recordings.  Luke is a Sojourner who is part of Louisville’s music scene, and will have a song on our upcoming worship project.  Besides releasing a new CD, Luke will perform as part of Sojourn’s Cultivate Beauty Festival next Saturday night at The 930, opening for Jeremy Enigk (of Sunny Day Real Estate and The Fire Theft).

Other upcoming blog posts this week will include more info and history on Cultivate Beauty Month, a new audio interview with Rebecca Dennison about writing songs for worship based on the psalms, a discussion with Pastor Brandon Little of Cincinatti’s Landmark Baptist Church about their music ministry and the role that Sojourn worship leader Lorie King has played in helping their worship team, and more.

Occasionally I remind you that you can click our RSS link to subscribe to this site.  Stats show that this really simple technique remains a mystery to most web users, despite the fact that it is a quick, fun way to stay abreast of new updates to your favorite blogs and websites without having to receive email updates (we all know how quickly our email folders can get “junked up”) or keep going to a site to see if they’ve posted something new yet.

Abraham Piper at Desiring God’s website has posted a great new article on using RSS feeds.  He specifically walks you through the process for receiving free news feeds through Google Reader.

You should also check out what Sojourn communications deacon Aaron Marshall has to say about RSS at churchsmo.com – not only RSS, but but also social bookmarking (I promise, this stuff is not technical.  If I can grasp these things, anyone can).

You’ll be a pro at RSS and bookmarking in no time.  Then, you can subscribe to sojournmusic.com’s feed.  Wahoo!
