New songs for modern missional worship, rich in Christian teaching and contextualized in modern culture. Contemporary hymns, psalms, songs of lament and praise written by members of the Louisville, KY-based Sojourn Community.
Sojourn Music will be a part of the next Takin’ It To The Streets event this Sunday, May 25 at Hard Rock Cafe, located in downtown Louisville’s entertainment district, Fourth Street Live. One of our bands will be performing at 5 pm, playing Sojourn originals and other worship songs.
You’ll recall that we taped a television show for Takin’ It To The Streets at Hard Rock last fall, and linked to the show so everyone could view it online. We’re honored to have been invited back. If you live in or near Louisville, we hope to see you there.

I just finished taping two audio interviews with worship arts pastor Mike Cosper. In the first, which will air on our podcast (sojournmusic radio) next week, Mike discusses the idea behind our next worship project: two CDs of new music based on the hymns of Sir Isaac Watts, the “Father of English Hymnody.” He also talks about his process for choosing the songs, thoughts on how he will produce his CD (he will produce one, and Neil Robins of Dirt Poor Robins will produce the other), and more.
The second looks at the “sacred v. secular music” debate. Stay tuned for this interview in the weeks to come.
