Acappella Singing: An Interview With Rebecca Dennison Of The Female Acappella Trio “Sandpaper Dolls”

sandpaperdolls.jpgRebecca Dennison is not only a Sojourn worship leader and featured vocalist on Before the Throne (as well as one of the featured vocalists and songwriters on These Things I Remember) but stays active in the Louisville music scene by harmonizing occasionally with Jamie Barnes and participating in the band The Joy Unfolding.

Now, she is part of an acapella trio called Sandpaper Dolls, along with Suki Anderson and Amber Estes.  I caught their first public performance last Saturday night, and can attest to the power and subtle nuance of their voices, individually and collectively.  Join me for a short audio interview with Rebecca as she talks about the challenges and joys of singing acappella, and about the formation and future goals of the Sandpaper Dolls.

Read a Velocity Weekly interview with Amber Estes of the Sandpaper Dolls (and Liberation Prophecy, and the Todd Hildreth Trio).  Amber discusses many aspects of her musical artistry, including the formation of Sandpaper Dolls.

And next week here on sojournmusic.com, we’ll bring you another audio interview with Rebecca, in which she talks about writing new worship music for the Church based on the psalms.  Subscribe to our RSS feed to receive the article as soon as it’s posted.  You can also subscribe to the sojournmusic.com audio podcast feed by clicking the icon below:
