Hear Part Two Of "Missional Strategies For The Arts" by Sojourn Worship Arts Pastor Mike Cosper

mikeandsarah.jpgHere is the continuation of a presentation by Pastor Mike Cosper from an Acts 29 conference in Troy, NY in October 2006, shortly before Sojourn moved into its current building, The 930.

In this mp3, Mike discusses high culture and low culture, as well as other differences between various kinds of art (such as “simple” and “complex” distinctions).

He also dives into the tension between gospel freedom/ Christian liberty and unprofitable license, as well as the danger (and the Christian’s tendency towards) legalism.

Around 45 minutes into this talk, you’ll hear that a bat makes it’s way into the conference room, causing Mike to lose focus ever so briefly.  He regains his composure, and apparently no one is bitten.  You’ll note that this incident happened in New York.  Stuff like that doesn’t go on here in Kentucky.

We won’t talk about what does go on.

Remember that Mike and Sojourn Teaching Pastor Daniel Montgomery will be presenting “Worship, Culture, and Context: A Case Study from a Missional Church” at Union University in Tennessee during a weekend conference on worship, Friday, February 15 at 3 pm.  Mike will also participate in a panel discussion Saturday the 16th beginning at 9 am, along with author Marva Dawn (How Shall We Worship?  Biblical Guidelines For The Worship Wars) and others.  More info early next week, here at sojournmusic.com.
