New songs for modern missional worship, rich in Christian teaching and contextualized in modern culture. Contemporary hymns, psalms, songs of lament and praise written by members of the Louisville, KY-based Sojourn Community.
The WFPK Live Lunch audio archive page now includes the audio file for the December 21 Holiday Singer-Songwriter showcase that featured noted recording artist and Sojourn worship leader Jamie Barnes, along with fellow Louisville-area artists LeAnn Yost (who coordinated the event), Brigid Kaelin, Danny Flanigan and John Mann.
Jamie performed two songs on the hour-long program, both from our Advent Songs CD: “Joy to the World,” featuring a new melody he composed for the classic Isaac Watts hymn text, and “Amen, Amen” by Neil and Kate Robins of Dirt Poor Robins.
And one more plug for the Sojourn worship arts ministry’s first free songwriting seminar, tomorrow, January 19, 3 pm at The 930 in the heart of Louisville. Jamie is leading the seminar, which is sure to be fun and informative. We hope to see you there.
