We are less than two weeks away from the first Sojourn songwriting seminar.  Our guest host for this inaugural edition, Jamie Barnes, will be doing some in-depth teaching on the mechanics of songwriting — the good, the bad and the ugly — using specific examples of recorded songs, talk about his own journey as a songwriter, discuss the unique challenge of writing new melodies for old standards (as he did on Advent Songs with “Joy to the World”) and take your questions during a Q&A session.

Starting tomorrow right here at sojournmusic.com, we will begin running a three-part interview with Neil Robins of Astonish Entertainment recording artists Dirt Poor Robins.  Neil and his wife Kate, the founding members of Dirt Poor Robins, are also valued members of the Sojourn music ministry, and contributed to both Before the Throne and Advent Songs through singing, songwriting, instrumentation, engineering and, in the case of Advent Songs, producing (Neil co-produced with Sojourn Worship Arts Pastor Mike Cosper).
