Sojourn Band to lead college worship this weekend at yearly conference
This Friday and Saturday, September 28 and 29, the Sojourn band will lead worship for college students who have come from across the state of Kentucky to attend Focus 2007 at Crestwood Baptist Church, just outside of Louisville (at 6400 Sweetbay Drive, Crestwood, KY 40014). Focus conferences are held every fall, and are designed to equip college students with leadership skills. Sessions at this year’s conference will prepare students to transform the culture through prayer, purity, proclamation and helping the poor. “Before The Throne” was birthed out of a series of conversations taking place between churches all across North America, facilitated by the Calvin Institute of Christian Worship in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Calvin uses the term “Vertical Habits” to describe the dialogue between God and us, and it challenged churches to come up with ways to teach the concept of worship as a life lived before the throne of God, where each day we are talking and listening to God, praising and confessing, offering and receiving. Complete schedule for TV taping/ music event
As reported earlier, the Sojourn band will be playing along with six other bands as part of this Sunday’s installment of the “Takin’ It To The Streets” series. This time it will be held at Fourth Street Live in downtown Louisville, KY, and will be filmed for a series of Saturday evening broadcasts this fall on Louisville’s CW affiliate, WBKI-TV. Sojourn will take the stage at 2 pm. 4th Street Live, Sunday, September 9
