New songs for modern missional worship, rich in Christian teaching and contextualized in modern culture. Contemporary hymns, psalms, songs of lament and praise written by members of the Louisville, KY-based Sojourn Community.
Sojourn worship leader and multi-instrumental singer-songwriter Jamie Barnes was featured in the cover story of the August 2007 Louisville Music News. You can read it by clicking HERE.
Due to difficulties with the Louisville Music News website, the link we’re providing will take you to the text of the interview in Jamie’s own myspace music page. Be sure to check out the other articles and mp3s there and then to visit Jamie’s website from the Helpful Links section here.
You can also navigate to the Helpful Links section to check out the music page for Jamie’s brand new project: a band called The Joy Unfolding with fellow Sojourners Mike Cosper, Rebecca Dennison, Jason Tiemann and Doug Elmore.
The Joy Unfolding will be playing The 930 in Louisville on Tuesday the 28th, and Jamie and Rebecca will be playing The UK Cat’s Den tomorrow night (Saturday the 25th) in Lexington.
Fellow Sojourn worship leader and singer-songwriter Brooks Ritter will be playing downtown Louisville’s Jazz Factory at 11 pm tonight during their Late Night Salon. Interstates will be playing in the Germantown neighborhood at The Pour Haus this evening as well. Also, Dirt Poor Robins will be playing next Tuesday at Birdy’s in Indianapolis. UPDATE: THE INTERSTATES SHOW HAS BEEN CANCELED DUE TO A BROKEN LEG (NEVER TELL PERFORMERS TO “BREAK A LEG.” IT HAPPENS). The show will be rescheduled.
Be sure to check out these and other Sojourn artists from the Helpful Links section to find out who is playing live shows, and when and where.
